Indiana’s December TBR:
Toward the end of November, I felt like I hit a reading slump. You know the type, where everything on your shelves seems stale or like something you just read? Luckily, I went on a book haul yesterday and found a few things I’m really looking forward to reading. The Sellout by Paul Beatty is one that I’ve been meaning to read since it came out. The storyline sounds slightly crazy and it seems like there’s a focus on racial/social commentary. Then I’ll be reading Artful by Ali Smith and Ruth Reichl’s memoir, Tender at the Bone.
Pete’s November Reads:
Hotel World by Ali Smith — 4 out of 5 stars
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates — 4.5 out of 5 stars
Team Review: Turtles All the Way Down by John Green — 4.5 out of 5 stars
Red Rising by Pierce Brown — 1.5 out of 5 stars
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson — Part One, Part Two
Pete’s November Shame:
No shame this month!
Pete’s December TBR:
After wrapping up the monstrous Oathbringer, I’ll be diving into Ali Smith’s Autumn in anticipation of her upcoming Winter. I’ll join Indiana in reading The Sellout, and then there’s Tender at the Bone, which we’re reading for our book club. After that, I’m finally reading Nimona by Noelle Stevenson, which is one of Indiana’s favorites. I’ll close the year off with Tehanu by Ursula K. Le Guin, a book I know I’m going to love.
I absolutely love Ursula K. Le Guin! I guarantee you will not be disappointed with Tehanu!
