Top Ten Tuesday: Books on our Summer 2021 TBR

Life has been pretty hectic over the last few weeks so we haven’t had much of a chance to write reviews or posts of any kind. But we’re trying to get back into the swing of things now! Thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl for the prompt!

Here’s a glance at what we’re hoping to read this summer.

Pete’s Five

Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Search by Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru
I was blown away by the authentic style of The Promise, and I’m sure the followup will be no different.

Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan
This book has been on my TBR shelf for years, and there’s no good reason why. I can’t wait to return to this world.

Lent by Jo Walton
I’ve been in a spooky/occult mood lately, and this story of a monk who sees demons will probably fit the bill.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told by Alex Haley
I’m not sure how I haven’t read this classic autobiography yet, but I’m looking forward to learning more about the life of this iconic leader.

A Swim in the Pond in the Rain by George Saunders
It’s been a while since I’ve actively written fiction, but this class-in-a-book might get me back in the mood.

Indiana’s Five

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I just picked this one up and am saving it for vacation because it seems like the ideal book for it.

Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab
I’ve been meaning to read this one since it came out and I’ve been in the mood for something a bit on the spookier side.

Summer by Ali Smith
I didn’t get to this one last year when it came out and I’ve waited until the right season came around to finally pick it up.

Sea Wife Amity Gaige
Another summery read but it sounds like it’s got more of a psychological twist to it.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
Since it’s the last Grishaverse book I have left to read I might try to savor it throughout the season . . . we’ll see how that works out though.
