It seems like our to be read list is never ending so this was an easy list to make. Thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl for another great Top Ten Tuesday!
Pete’s Five
Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan
I loved Riyria Revelations, and I’m sure I’ll love Sullivan’s Legends of the First Empire series. For some reason I just keep putting this one off to start other series!
Perdido Street Station by China Miéville
The only Miéville book I’ve read is Un Lun Dun, which I enjoyed greatly. I hear this is the best book of his to start with, so I am excited to read this one that somehow didn’t make it into last year.
A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr.
I’ve had this one for years, and I’ve heard it’s one of the great classics of sci-fi. Why I didn’t get to it last year, I don’t know.
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker
A good friend of mine gave me this one about a year ago. I meant to read it last year, and while it stayed on my “read this soon” shelf all year, I somehow never got to it.
The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold
I learned about this one last year and knew from the description that I would love it. And I probably will—for now it sits on my TBR, hopefully to be tackled in 2019.
Indiana’s Five
The Monk of Mokha by Dave Eggers
I’ve had this one on my shelf ever since it came out and it seems like something always stops me from picking it up.
The Once and Future King by T.H. White
I’ve been meaning to read this one for years and my mom got me a copy late last year so I put it towards the top of my tbr, but I still haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m hoping to change that soon though.
The Love Machine by Jacqueline Susann
After reading Valley of the Dolls I was wicked excited to see a copy of this one in a used book store up in Portland, Maine. I’m hoping to get to it in 2019.
Eve’s Hollywood by Eve Babitz
I read several Eve Babitz books last year so even though this one was on my list, I wanted to space it out a bit.
Britt Marie was Here by Fredrik Backman
Although I loved the first two books I read by Backman (A Man Called Ove and My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry) I was not a fan of Beartown. So I put this one much further down on my tbr list and it didn’t get done. But I’m still looking forward to reading it this year.
