This week’s topic had us scanning our shelves for titles of a certain variety: super long book titles.
Thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl for another great Top Ten Tuesday!
Indiana’s Five:
The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews
Censoring and Iranian Love Story by Shahriar Mandanipour
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
The Guernsey Potato Peel and Literary Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
Pete’s Five:
Your Fathers, Where Are They? And the Prophets, Do They Live Forever? By Dave Eggers
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
An Episode in the Life of a Landscape Painter by César Aira
Amazing list! The longest book I’ve read is probably only Eleanor oliphant – I like your choices haha, I honestly hadn’t realised how long some of them get 😁 I tried this prompt but I eventually tried ‘ranking the Simons of literature’. Of which I thought there was a lot but turns out there isn’t really lol. I guess it’s also to do with names? It tenuous I know, but check it out if you want to see how Simon cowell ranks against Simon spier! https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2020/10/13/ttt-ranking-fictional-simons-and-real-ones-i-ran-out/

Thank you! That’s an interesting idea too! It was tougher than I realized to come up with some of these
