Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early This one was easy to put together as there are too many books we’re excited about to begin with. Thanks for the excuse to write about them That Artsy Reader Girl!
This list was a lot of fun to put together. Sometimes these words give you a good idea of what a book is about — other times, they seem trite. Either way, the fantasy genre definitely suffers from overused words.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a freebie — we decided to talk about some of our least favorite tropes. A disclaimer: we don’t think tropes or “trope-y” books are by any means bad. Tropes are just storytelling elements, and they allow us to break stories down and find intersections between them. They’re a great tool for readers and writers.

Top Ten Tuesday: Characters that I liked from Non-Favorite/disliked books This one is tricky, but we had fun thinking back through to books that we didn’t like (and probably vented a lot about).

It was tough to narrow down our list for this installment of Top Ten Tuesday. There have been so many books we’ve read even in the last year or so that we thought we’d hate but loved, or that we were really hopeful for but hated.
